Class Description
FIRST® LEGO® League is coming to VINE HILL! Yes, that includes an opportunity to compete against other teams in California! Join Brick Lab this fall at Vine Hill for our brand-new LEGO® Robotics class — an after-school program focused on Engineering, Science, and Technology, combining parts and curriculum from SPIKE, BricQ, and FIRST® LEGO® League. All students will also have the opportunity to participate in a FIRST® LEGO® League Grades: 2 - 5 Day: Wednesdays Session Length: 90 minutes (12:45–2:15 PM) Program Duration: 15 weeks (after school) Dates: August 19 – December 16 No Class: November 11 (Veteran's Day) · November 18 (Parent/Teacher Conferences) · November 25 (Thanksgiving Break) Skill Level: All experience levels welcome Designed for curious, hands-on learners in grades 2–5, LEGO® Robotics Studio goes beyond building. Students will explore real concepts in physics, engineering design, and computational thinking as they plan, construct, test, and refine their creations each week. Drawing from three industry-leading curricula — SPIKE™, BricQ Motion, and FIRST® LEGO® League — this program delivers a rich, structured learning experience that grows with each student over the course of the session. Each week, students will tackle age-appropriate challenges that mirror the kind of thinking engineers and scientists use every day: observing how things move, designing for a purpose, troubleshooting what isn't working, and iterating until it does. Along the way, they'll build vocabulary, develop technical confidence, and practice the collaborative problem-solving skills that serve students well inside and outside the classroom. No prior robotics experience is required — just a willingness to explore, experiment, and build something great. Why LEGO® Robotics Studio? - Curriculum-backed learning rooted in real Science, Technology, and Engineering standards - Hands-on challenges that develop critical thinking and creative problem-solving - A collaborative environment where students learn to communicate, lead, and support one another - A natural next step for students ready to go beyond open-ended building — and an exciting entry point for first-time robotics students alike Keep an eye on your inbox — about a week before the first day of class, we'll send out everything you need to know, including what to expect and your classroom location.
