Join Brick Lab this fall at Vine Hill for our brand-new Creative LEGO® Lab — an after-school program where creativity meets engineering. Grades: K–5 Day: Mondays Session Length: 90 minutes (2:45–4:15 PM) Program Duration: 14 weeks (after school) Dates: August 17 – December 14 No Class: September 1 (Labor Day) · October 13 (Indigenous Peoples' Day) · November 17 (Parent/Teacher Conferences) · November 24 (Thanksgiving Break) Skill Level: All experience levels welcome What if there were no instructions? No right answers? Just you, your imagination, and a whole lot of LEGO® bricks? Creative LEGO® Studio is a 14-week program designed for builders who want to explore the creative side of engineering. On the first day of class, each student receives their very own LEGO® set — theirs to care for, build with, and bring to life throughout the entire program. While sets remain the property of Brick Lab during the program, families who want to keep the fun going at home after the final session may purchase their student's set or a brand-new one. Simply select the purchase option that works best for your family at checkout. Each week, students will be presented with fun building challenges and open-ended prompts designed to spark ideas and stretch their creative muscles — but the real magic is theirs to make. Students are always free to take their builds in any direction they choose, discovering along the way that art and engineering aren't so different after all. This class is made for kids who want to throw out the instruction manual, ditch the curriculum, and let their ideas come to life brick by brick. A note on mixed-age learning: This year, we're opening Creative LEGO® Studio to students across all elementary grades — and that's very much by design. We've seen firsthand how much younger and older students gain from sharing the same creative space, trading ideas, and learning from one another in a Big Buddy style environment. To make sure every age group gets the support they need, we'll be using a rolling start time that aligns with the school's release schedule. Younger students will have a little extra time in a smaller group setting to receive instruction and get building before older students join the class. Regardless of age, all students are expected to meet their instructor in the classroom immediately after school. Classroom location and program specifics will be emailed one week before class starts.
